R. L. STEVENSON’S GRAVE

TO THE EDITOB OI THE TBKSU. Sir, —In reference to statements in vour' columns of January 19, dated London, December 29, I visited this grave in September last, and would Tike to give a most emphatic denial to the statements made in regard to this grave. . The track was in splendid condition; the tomb had not been neglected, and although names had been scratched on the concrete slab it. was very evident that this had been going on for

a long period of years, and therefore definitely was not the fault of the New Zealand administration.

It is perfectly obvious that, the complaints reported in your columns are grossly exaggerated and decidedly unfair.—Yours, etc..

ARTHUR L. GRAY January 19. 1933.
