MAYORALTY OF TEMUKA
+ NO MOVE MADE FOR NEXT ELECTIONS STATEMENT BY MR A. W. BUZAN Rumour has been prevalent in Temuka that the Mayor <Mr A. W. Buzan) will contest the Temuka seat for Labour at the next election. Interviewed by "The Press," Mr Buzan said he had heard of the rumour, but he had not been approached to represent Labour interests. Questioned about the coming municipal elections, Mr Buzan said the subject of the mayoralty of Temuka for the coming term had not been mentioned to him. No move, as far as he knew, had yet been made in the matter. The nomination of councillors was usually done only a short time befos* the elections, he added.
