The weather forecast for Canterbury and Marlborough, issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: — Light to moderate and variable winds. Weather fair, warm, and hazy. Seas slight to moderate. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light to moderate and variable winds, with northerlies predominating. Weather mainly fair, warm, and hazy; but some scattered rains probable in southern areas, bcas slight to moderate. DOMINION The Dominion forecast is:— Weather fair, warm, and hazy generally; but with mist or fog in places, especially in the early morning. Later some scattered light rain probable in the far south. An anti-cyclone of moderate, but decreasing intensity extends on to the Dominion, its centre being located over the Eastern Tasman Sea. A cyclone is centred over South Queensland, and pressure is also low over south-eastern Australia. Winds—Light to moderate and variable southerly to south-easterly prevailing over the northern half of the North Island: elsewhere northerlies gradually setting in. and freshening in the far south. Seas <New Zealand waters) —Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea —Easterly winds In the northern portion, and northerlies in the southern, force light to moderate, with slight to moderate seas; but ■winds and sea later rising somewhat in the southern portion.
