DAVIS CUP TEAM CANDIDATES JUNIOR GIRLS NOMINATED TO TOUR AUSTRALIA tl-KBSt ASSOCIATION TBLIOB.AM.) WELLINGTON, January 20. The secretary of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association (Mr H. N. Burns) announces that he has received the following nominations for the New Zealand Davis Cup team and for the junior girls' team to visit Australia: — Davis Cup team —C. Angas (Canterbury), N. Edwards, N. F. Bedford, and D. C. Coombe (Wellington), N. G. Sturt and A. D. Brown (Auckland). Junior girls' team—Misses K. Armstrong (Canterbury), J. Douthett. J. Bedford, B. Dale, L. Akel, and J. Forrester (Wellington), Pam Cooke (Auckland), and Rede Wilson (Southland). There is uncertainty about the position of Miss Margaret Beverley, as no nomination for her has yet been received from the Waikato Lawn Tennis Association. ' N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS SLIGHT CHANGES IN DRAW (PBESB ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, January 20. There are slight amendments, to the draw for the men's and women's singles events of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis championship tournament. In the first round of the men's singles, J. Roach will play N. G. Sturt. instead of M. Ferkins. In the first round of the women's singles, Miss B. Bishop will play Miss D. Dickey, instead of Miss E. S. Stewart. Immediately after the BishopDickey fixture should appear Miss J. Bedford v. Miss E. S. Stewart. CHANGE IN MEN'S COMPETITION DRAW FOR SATURDAY The Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association has decided that because of the recent wet weather and the postponement of matches, the senior men's competition will be held on every Saturday instea dof every alternate Saturday until February 5. The B grade, section 1, matches arranged to be played on January 29 will be played on January 22. The draw is as follows (all matches, unless otherwise stated, to be played at Wilding Park):— Senior Men—Fifth round: United v. Linwood (at United), Cashmere v. Fendalton. Elmwood v.
