BISHOP KELLEY TO I'ASS THROUGH AUCKLAND [THE PRESS Special Service.) AUCKLAND, January 20. A famous American prelate and author, known throughout America as "Extension Kelley/' the Rt. Rev. Francis Clement Kelley. Catholic Bishop of Oklahoma City, is expected as a through passenger for Sydney by the Monterey, which will arrive in Auckland to-morrow. Bishop Keiley is one of the prelates from overseas, who will attend the coming Catholic Centenary celebrations at Auckland, and he will return from Sydney next month. Bishop Kelley is known as "Extension" because he was the originator and first president of the Catholic Church Extension Society of America, an organisation which has in the last 32 years lent powerful aid in the erection of churches, schools, and the provision of church altar requisites. More than half the new Catholic Churches in the United States are provided by the society. Possessing literary talents above the average, Bishop Kelley is well known in America for his books.
