ATTEMPT ON DISTANCE RECORDS
TRAINING WORK OF ROYAL AIR FORCE (Received January 19, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, January 18. It is stated that attempts on the long-distance non-stop flight record by the Royal Air Force have begun. Long-distance training flights will be made towards Australia in the spring. Pilots training for the record include Flight Lieutenant Frank Steight Gardner, of Newcastle, New South Wales, formerly of the Central Flying School, at Upavon.
