POWERS’ RELATIONS WITH ITALY
■ ♦ SWEDISH MINISTER APPEALS FOR SETTLEMENT STOCKHOLM, January IS. The Minister for Foreign Affairs (Mr Richard Sandler) has called on the nations which adopted sanctions in 1936 to devise a joint settlement of their relations with Italy. ‘‘The League of Nations is evidently incapable of effective intervention when the interests of the Great Powers are really at stake,” he said. “Since the participation of Sweaen in sanctions, Italian-Swedish relations have remained irregular. The Government believes such a position should be settled.”
