THE JEWS IN PALESTINE

TO TUX EDITOR OF- I'HB PRESS. Sir, —Noted in "The Press” of recent date Sir Oswald Mosley hopes to create a Fascist Britain in five years. He also plans to deprive the Jews of their natural privileges: and, further, makes a dramatic, if not bombastic, appeal to the Arabs to “unite, and you will win through.” In a recent book, the writer in his closing chapter. “Palestine To-morrow,” places before the reader very frankly the immense difficulties in the way of the rebuilding of Palestine, and the repatriation of the Jewish people. The problems, economic and racial, are so colossal that to him failure and tragedy (how true) seem more than possible. While he wishes success to the national and patriotic ideal of building up a national home for the Jews in Palestine, he bases his hope mainly on British guidance (certainly not British Fascism). The most important feature of the unique city of Jerusalem is the fact that its most glorious and magnificent days are yet in the future. God has revealed His purpose for the city which he calls “My Holy City.” Jerusalem is destined to become the centre of the world’s government, when shall be fulfilled this prophecy! “In the latter days it shall come to pass that the mountain of the Lord’s House shall be established in th 6 top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills, and the peoples shall How into it. For out of Zion shall go forth the law and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” Pilate made reference to Christ as the “King of the Jews” (Micah, 4-2.) A most striking statement from Scripture —which apparently Sir Oswald Mosley knows nothing about. “Look unto Me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else.” (Isaiah, 14, 21-22). Modernism is but a new name for the older attacks on God’s revelation and the Christian faith, and persecution of the Jews (continued) “If any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy. God shall take away His portion (part) out of the book of life, and out of the ‘Holy City,’ and from the things which are written in this book.” —Yours, etc., REVELATION, 22-19. Auckland. January 16, 1938.
