DEEP-SEA ANGLING
VISITORS PROM MANILA SUCCESSFUL

TAURANGA, January 19.
Mr and Mrs J. Lindsay Myers, of Manila, who are spending a fishing holiday at Mayor Island, are enjoying excellent sport Their total catch to date for a week's fishing is nine fish, of a total weight of 2848 pounds.
Included In the catch were a 340pouhd striped marlin, caught by Mrs Myers, and a 558-pound thresher shark by Mr Myers. Both said that they were greatly Impressed with what little of New Zealand they had already seen, and were having better fishing and camping at Mayor Island than they had ever dreamed of. Mr Myers will remain at Mayor Island till at least January 26. Die total catches at Mayor Island to date are 20 sharks and 28 striped marlin.
