HEAVY STOCK OFFERINGS A HiC of from 4 to 5 per cent, for most types was recorded at the opening of the London wool sales on Tuesday The market was somewhat erratic, but was stronger than had been expected. A small selection of New Zealand fine wools was offered, but New Zealand crossbreds met an excellent enquiry at the full rise. The heaviest entries for some time came forward in most sections at the stock sale at Addington yesterday. Fat wethers were easier by 2s 6d a head and heavy ewes by 3s 6d a head. Light ewes maintained their price better because of extensive buying by the freezing companies. Fat lambs were Is 6d a head easier because of the reduced schedule, which is now at 7Jd pei lb. Cattle sold remarkably well for midsummer, but eased 20s to 25s a head. The accounts of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company foi the yeai ended October 31 show a slight reduction in the net profit though the trading profit was larger. Dividend is maintained at 5i per cent.
