IMPROVED PHYSIQUE OF ENGLISH CHILDREN
(BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) RUGBY, January 17. Increases of two inches in the average height and seven or eight pounds in weight of school children in the last 30 years were mentioned by the Minister for Education (Lord Stanhope), in speaking at Nottingham in support of the national health campaign. Such signs of improvement in physique, however, should not give rise to complacency and he said the Government was making a great effort to ensure that health services were fully attended.
