WEDDING

BONNINGTON—FOX A wedding of interest to manyfriends in Christchurch was celebrated recently at St. John's Church, Darlinghurst, Sydney, when Mr John Bonnington, son of the late Mr Gerald Bonnington and of Mrs U. R. Bonnington, Sydney, was married to Miss Valmai Fox, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. H. Fox, Gordonvale, near Cairns, Queensland. The bridegroom is an air pilot, and he met his bride after an accident in his aeroplane in North Queensland, where she nursed him back to health. The bride wore a frock of off-white cloque made with a circular yoke and an oval train. Her veil was held with a topknot of gardenias, and her bouquet was composed of white gladioli. Miss Dorothy Bonnington, who attended as bridesmaid, wore a delphinium blue self-spotted crepe frock and a circular shoulder veil, held to the head with a coronet of delphiniums and carnations. She carried a sheaf of flameshaded gladioli. Mr John Larkin was best man. Mr and Mrs J. Bonnington will make their home in Melbourne. DANCE AT TEDDINGTON YOUNG FARMERS' CLUB The Allandale Hall was decorated with greenery and coloured streamers when the Teddington Young Farmers' Club held its annual dance. During the evening a presentation was made to Mr Graham Nutt, who is leaving the district. Mr George Templeton, patron of the club, made the presentation. As supper was being served Mr Graham Suckling, accompanied by Miss Molly Suckling, sang two songs. Winners of novelty dances were Miss Wanaka Fergusson and Mr B. O'Connor, Miss Joan Albertson and Mr J. Reynolds. Amongst those present were Mesdames Eric Gray, N. R. Withell, A. Manson, R. J. Templeton, S. G. Lindsay, L. Holland, J. Simpson, Joyce Seeker, Hazel Hunter, Joan Templeton, Phyllis Hunter, L. O'Connor, Wanaka Fergusson, Edna Hay, June Smith, J. Twose, Verna Askew, Joan Lisle, Jessie Gebbie, Janet Miller, Phyllis Lancaster, Mary Gebbie, Joan Albertson, Ngaire Gebbie, W. Harris, Jean Small, Molly Suckling, Audrey Harris, Gwen Smart, Brenda Simmonds, Rae Templeton, Grace Watkins, Betty Prettyjohn, and Constance Pannel. FLAG BRIDGE PARTY A pleasant flag bridge party was held at the home of Mrs C. S. Bullen (Fairview street), in honour of Miss Joan Harding, whose marriage will take place next month. The drawingroom was bright with bowls of Iceland poppies, and many useful gifts were presented to the guest of honour. Prizes for flag bridge were won by Mesdames Smart, Aitken, and Storie, and consolation prizes by Mesdames Pickett, McCabe, and Miss M. Pickett. A competition was won by Miss E. Hooper. Those present included Miss Joan Harding, Mesdames E. Harding, Henderson, Archibold, Pickett, Storie, Allison, Dawrant, J. Spence, Aitken, Smart, Burgoyne, and McCabe, Misses Hooper, Keith, Wakeley, P. Campion, M. Pickett, M. Campion, and E. Wright
