State housing inspector, visited Rangiora yesterday to supervise preliminary work. "LEARN-TO-SWIM" WEEK RANGIORA ARRANGEMENTS "Learn -to-swim" week began at Rangiora yesterday. At the Rangiora High School classes for boys and girls who cannot swim were begun and will be held every day this week. Each class lasts half an hour, the instructors being teachers and pupils who are able to swim. The Rangiora Borough School has been granted the use of the municipal baths for from four to five hours daily during the next fortnight, and teachers are instructing children who are non-swimmers or can swim only poorly. The assistance of townspeople as tutors is being sought. The Rangiora Amateur Swimming Club will discuss the "learn-to-swim" week at its annual meeting this evening. VISIT TO CHRISTCHURCH RANGIORA HIGH SCHOOL PUPILS Rangiora High School pupils will visit Christchurch to-day to inspect various factories, institutions, and public buildings. The children will be divided into parties according to their school vocational courses, with a teacher in charge of each party, so that all will he furthering their studies. Institutions visited will include the Chief Post Office, Canterbury University College, and the Christchurch Teachers' Training College. UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FIFTEEN CANDIDATES AT RANGIORA Fifteen candidates are sitting for the University entrance examination in Rangiora this year. Fourteen are from the Rangiora High School and one is from the Oxford District High School. The examination began in the Parish Hall yesterday under the supervision of Archdeacon A. C. Purchas, who is assisted by Miss R. Horrell.
