VISIT OF AIR CLIPPER
ARRANGEMENTS AT ! LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD'S PLANS Arrangements for the reception at Lyttelton of the Imperial Airways clipper Centaurus on its experimental flight to Australia and New Zealand are already being made by the Lyttelton Harbour Board. The clipper was scheduled to leave Southampton on December 3, arriving at Auckland via Sydney on December 27, Wellington on December 31, Lyttelton on January 1, and Dunedin on January 2. "It is intended that the clipper will alight in the outer harbour and taxi to a mooring in the inner harbour which the board will be asked to provide between No. 1 breastwork and No. 1 jetty," said the chairman, Mr R. T. McMillan, at the meeting of the board yesterday. "As the visit of the flying-boat may have results important to Lyttelton and the South Island, I feel sure the board will co-operate in every possible way for the safety of the clipper while moored in the port and to facilitate and control the traffic crowds both afloat and ashore which are anticipated."
