NO SIGNS OF SET-BACK
MR CHAMBERLAIN'S OPTIMISM
(BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) (Received November 14, 8 p.m.) RUGBY, November 13. In referring to the outlook for trade and industry the Prime Minister (Mr Neville Chamberlain) said at Edinburgh that England was at present more prosperous than any other of the great industrial countries of the world.
"We must expect ups and downs, but I can see no sign of a set-back in the immediate future, or indeed for some considerable time," he said. "If one does come we could hardly be better able to meet it than we are to-day."
