LADIES' AUXILIARY
ENTERTAINS
On Saturday evening an enjoyable musical and dramatic programme arranged by the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Christchurch Liederkranzchen and the Royal Christchurch Musical Society was enjoyed by an audience that filled the cosy rooms of the Catholic Women's League, in Stewart, Dawson's Buildings. Hißh street. An amusing Scottish play was presented by Mrs \V. Collins. Mr and Mrs Gi.-nn, and Mr Fraser. Humorous recitations were given by Mr A. E. Romeril, songs were sung by Mrs R. J. McLaren, Miss Natalie Lichlield. Messrs L. N. Fleming and J. E. Mason, duets by Miss Millicent Jennings and Miss Grace Torkington, Mrs J. E. Mason and Mr G. M. Fawcett. and by Miss Lilian Church and Mr Mason. A sonata for violin and piano was played by Misses Wyn and Claire Simpson, and a piano soio bv Miss Gwyneth Brown. Madrigals were sung by the Liederkranzchen conducted by Mr Alfred Worsley. Mrs F. W. Simpson piayed the accompaniments. . . On behalf of the two societies, Mr F A. Bullock thanked the energetic auxiliary committees which had done much during the year to augment the funds of both societies.
