LAURIAN CLUB RECITAL
ATTRACTIVE PROGRAMME ARRANGED
The programme to be presented by members of the Laurian Club next Thursday, November 18, in the Radiant Hall, promises to be one of the most interesting yet given by this enterprising club, Brahms's magnificent "Piano Quartet in C Minor," Op, 60, will be given by Misses Irene Morris, Althea HarleySlack, Noel Cape-Williamson, and Mr Ronald Moon; and Armstrong Gibbs's charming "Miniature" string quartet will be interpreted by Mesdames Greta Bills and Nina Slater and Misses Irene Morvls and Marjorie Chapman. The Laurian Club string orchestra has gained a high reputation among music-lovers of the city. Under the baton of Victor C. Peters, it will play "Concerto Grosso" (Corelli), "Suite for Strings" (Dolmetsch), and "Concerto in E Minor" (Avison, arr. Warlock), compositions not often heard, which should delight all lovers of good music. The assisting artists are Miss Ailsa Nicol (soprano) and Mr Frederick Bullock, whose excellent baritone voice should be heard to great advan- j tage in delightful Shakespearean songs by Castelnuovo-Tedesco.
