DISLIKE OF MORBID HYMNS
PLEA BY ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY (Received November 9, 12.45 ami.) LONDON, November 8. The Archbishop of Canterbury (Dr. Cosmo Gordon Lang), consecrating a churchyard at Kingston, said: “How I dislike many of our most familiar hymns which dwell morbidly on death. Young people are alienated from our i services. Let us deprecate all morbid brooding on death.”
