MALE VOICE CHOIR

The concert at the Radiant Hall next Saturday will be found unusually interesting to music lovers. The composers range from Elizabethan to present writers, and there are splendid folk-song settings by Holst, Dunhill, Vaughan Williams, and Charles Wood, whose names guarantee excellence. Turning to Germany, there is a fine drinking song by Reinecke, Schubert's “On Lonely Heights,” and the Pilgrims Chorus from “Tannhauser” —a very severe test.

The biggest item, however, is Gernsheim’s cantata “Salamis,” which splendid work is being sung by the choir for the first time.

The assisting artists are Miss Cecily Audibert. who will sing little-known Irish folk-songs and a Bach group, and Mr Francis Bate, ’cellist, who will play a concerto by Haydn. The choir soloists are Messrs Lake, Law, and Richards.
