ASSAULT ON TRAFFIC INSPECTOR
IMPRISONMENT FOR TWO MEN (PEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WANGANUI. November 5. Leslie James Wedderspoon and Robert George Burns, Auckland, were sentenced to two months’ imprisonment for assaulting Traffic Inspector Martin John Hardigan, near Karioi, on November 2. For the theft of keys Wedderspoon was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment, and for the theft of petrol both were sentenced to one month’s imprisonment, the terms to be cumulative.
On a charge of converting a car to their own use they were remanded to appear at Napier on November 12.
