NEW PRESENTATIONS AT SHOW

GREENHALGH AND JACKSON FEATURES After an extensive tour of the world in search of new wonders for their side-shows, the well-known showmen, Greenhalgh and Jackson, are again in Christchurch. They will present many new acts and features in their sideshows at the Agricultural and Pastoral Association show next week. They have brought with them Princess Pontus, the giant Amazon from Brazil. This giant woman, who will appear at the show, is the last of the famous tribe of head-hunters from South America, and, weighing 48 stone, and standing Bft 2in in height, she is said to be the heaviest and tallest woman in the world.

With her will appear Isom, the African pigmy man. During their performance, the pigmy takes a butcher’s hook of steel, places it through his tongue, and lifts a 281 b weight on it. He also eats fire and walks on broken glass. Another novelty will be the presentation of the diminutive American woman Dollita. who is well known in Hollywood. She is 20 years of age, weighs 371 b, and is 28in high. In the show she will sing and dance. Marjorie van Camp and her wonderful trained pigs will make their first appearance in Christchurch with this company. TVie tricks performed t>y the pigs will include hurdle jumping, bell ringing, and shooting off guns, and a miniature boxing match between two of the pigs will be staged.
