The first broad gauge engine at Invercargill. This engine, built for a gauge of 4 feet 8& inches, ran on wooden rails with flangeless wheels. It was guided along the track by a wheel at each corner which was adjusted at an angle of 45 degrees. This engine was built at Ballarat.
