POLICY OF STATE LENDING
MEMBER ASKS FOR GREATER LIBERALITY

An indication of when promises ot a more liberal and progressive lending policy by the State Advances Corporation are to be given effect to was sought by Mr A. H. Nordmeyer (Government, Oamaru) in notice of a question addressed to the Minister in cViaxge oi tYie Department (tY\e Hon W. Nash), in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr Nordmeyer asked the Minister if he was satisfied that the present board of management was carrying out the intentions of the Government, and if there was any need to retain on the board the services of a person already enjoying a high superannuation allowance. Information whether any appreciable number of loans had been granted in excess of 90 per cent, of the value of the securities offered, including collateral securities deposited with the corporation, was also sought by Mr Nordmeyer.
