AMBASSADOR'S PLEA FOR FRIENDSHIP
"CO-OPERATION OF FRANCE AND GERMANY"
(Received November 2, 9 p.m.)
BERLIN, November 2.
M. Francois Poncet, the French Ambassador, made a strong plea for French and German co-operation when speaking at the graves of French war prisoners, who died in Germany between 1813 and 1870. He said: "My wish is that France and Germany should establish good, neighbourly relations, based on respect and friendship. "The two countries are the cornerstone of European civilisation, and their friendship would guarantee European peace."
