PARIS, November 1
According to Italian commentators Signor Vittorio Cerutti (Italian Ambassador to France) is going on holiday, but it is believed that his departure is II Duce's reply to the failure of the French Government to replace le Comte de Chambrun, the French Ambassador to Rome, when he retired last year. It is stated that any new French Ambassador's credentials would need to include the recognition of the King of Italy as Emperor of Abyssinia.
France and Italy are now represented at each other's capitals by Charges d'Affaires. Signor Renato Prunas was yesterday appointed Italian Charge d'Affaires at Paris.
A message from Berlin says the recall of the Italian Ambassador from Paris has caused a sensation.
