A MANNEQUIN PARADE
"THE PRESS SHIP" COT FUND
MISS SPARKES' CONTRIBUTION
Over at Governor's Bay, in the Cholmondeley Memorial Home, there is a bed which is known as "The Press Ship" cot. The girls and boys of the children's page of "The Press" have made themselves responsible for the upkeep of this cot. and in the last year no fewer than eight children have been their guests in the home by the sea. The children have laboured diligently to raise the funds required to make this cot their own, and now a friend has come to their help. Miss Sparkes, Armagh street, will hold a mannequin parade, next Friday evening, at her salon, in aid of "The Press Ship" cot funds. Shipmates and Sunbeams issue a cordial invitation to their mothers and sisters, aunts, and friends to be present at this parade. They also wish to thank Miss Sparkes for her kind thought. Of course there is no need to stress the excellence of the entertainment Miss Sparkes offers. Two mannequin shows have already been held at her salon, in aid cf kindergarten funds, and each time the rooms have been crowded. The performance starts at 7.30 p.m. sharp. Tickets, price 6d, may be obtained from Lady Gay or irom Miss Sparkes. „ The usher- will all be "Press Ship members, and "The Press Ship Mayor, Helen Watson, recently installed at the Christchurch City Council, will speak.
