THE MONTAGUE SHOW
WEST END REVUE COMPANY
The box plans for Sir Benjamin Fuller's "The Montague Show" opened yesterday morning at the D.1.C., and record bookings are expected for the whole season. The company will play "Let's Go Places" from Saturday next at the St. James' Theatre. Described as, the only complete West End revue company to be imported from London, the Famous Montague Show will present the revue on exactly the same scale as it was staged in London. Many brilliant performers will be seen in this company, which had a remarkable run before leaving for Australia and New Zealand.
The principal performer is the English comedian, George Doonan. He is well known in the West End as a representative of the modern school of "dress-suit" comedians. Catherine Stewart, vivacious comedienne, assists him in several bright sketches. One of the most original and fascinating acts ever to be seen on this side of the. world is the Darmora Ballet of 12 beautiful Hungarian girls. This is under the direction of Madame Darmora herself. The ballet is bringing with it all its own costumes, which are estimated to be worth £16,000. Other performers are the Two Rogues, comedy specialty act. and Jimmy Jewell and Ben Harris, English comedians.
