SHIPPING NOTES

The tanker Storaas is due here to-mor-row from Wellington to discharge, to the agency of the Shell Oil Company. The Nikau is due here on Sunday from Tarakohe, and is to load on Monday for Nelson, Mapua, and Motueka. The Port Waikato is expected back at Lyttelton on Friday from Dunedin and Timaru. She is to load for Auckland direct.

The Waiana is to arrive here to-morrow from the south to take in cargo for Auckland.

The Waipahi is due here on Saturday from Timaru, and is to load for Nelson and New Plymouth. The Kaimai is an expected arrival at Lyttelton on Wednesday next from Westport with coal. She is to complete discharge at southern ports.

Advice has been received that the new Federal motor-ship Essex reached London on Saturday. She left Auckland on September 29 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow, via Cape Horn, and has made a smart passage of 31 days.

SILVERELM AT WELLINGTON

To continue discharge of her cargo of hardwood from Bunbury. the Silver Line motor-ship Silverelm arrived at Wellington on Monday morning from Auckland. She is to leave Wellington again about next Friday for Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge.
