YOUTH CHARGED WITH STOWING AWAY

* (PRESS association telegram.) AUCKLAND, November 1. On the arrival of the Niagara from Sydney this morning, a youth, aged 16, was handed to the police on a charge of stowing away. Later, Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., remanded him to appear in the Children’s Court on Friday. The youth asked the Magistrate if it were possible for him to remain in irew Zealand to seek a position. The police said that, according to the youth’s statement, his parents reside in Vancouver. He unsuccessfully tried to persuade the »nptain to permit him to work on the ship to that port. The Magistrate asked the police to make further inquiries in Australia.
