* LODGE SOCIAL About 120 young men and women spent an enjoyable evening at the Oddfellows Hall on Saturday, when the annual social of the Loyal City of Norwich Juvenile Lodge was held. The social committee consisted of Bros. F. Boyle. C. Lewis, L. Sales, W. Samson, G. Carson, L. Quested, R. Louttit, S. Canning. E. Fowlds, C. Barnes, and S. Forman. Dance music and accompaniments were played by Mrs C. Pocock, and Bros. Boyle and Lewis were masters of ceremonies. A lucky spot Boston was won by Bro. C. Le Compte and Miss Gwitha Miller, and a Monte Carlo Boston by Miss B. Smith and Bro. L. Sales. Competitions were won by Bros. A. Mitchell and Miss P, Boyd. D.P.G.M. Bro. S. E. Martin thanked those responsible for the arrangements for the social. Golf Medal matches were played by the Lyttelton Golf Club at the Chartens Bay links yesterday. The following returned the best cards: — Seniors —H. Derbidgc 92, 18 —74; C. H. Pascoe 91, 15—76. Juniors—-K. Cochrane 102, 30--<2; R. Crawford 99, 23—76; B. Judge 100. 24 76. Women’s match: Miss W. WhiteParsons 113, 35—78; Miss M. Sowden 98, 20—78; Miss C. Williams 107, 26 81; Miss H. Sowden 111, 30—81. In the final for junior championship, Mrs A. Jackson beat Mrs H. C. Banlield, 5 and 4. Golfers’ Gathering Members of the Lyttelton Golf Club entertained their president, Mr R. Orton Bradley, at afternoon tea m the pavilion yesterday to celebrate his eightieth birthday, which he attained recently. Mr H. Fletcher, club captain, in proposing the health of Mr Bradley, conveyed to him the good wishes of the members for his continued good health and prosperity, and presented him with a card companion. Miss C. Williams, captain of the Lyttelton Ladies’ Golf Club, presented Miss A. Bradley with gifts for herself and Miss E. Bradley. Mr Bradley returned thanks and cut the birthday cake provided. , . The toast of Mr and Mrs J. Stokes was proposed by Mr F. H. Knights, who referred to the useful work done by Mr Stokes since the formation of the club 25 years ago. Mr Stokes expressed regret that he was unable to continue as a playing member.
