OPPOSITION TO MR ABERHART
MASS MEETING DEMANDS RESIGNATION "TURNING OVER PROVINCE TO MAJOR DOUGLAS" (united pbess association —COPTBIOHT.) (Received September 10, 9.5 p.m.) CALGARY, September 9. Eight thousand people at a mass meeting of the Alberta People's League adopted a resolution demanding the resignation of- the Premier (Mr William Aberhart) and stating that the Premi?r had in effect abdicated, turning over the province to Major Douglas. Promises had not been fulfilled, Canada's Constitution had been defied, the Courts restricted, and the distress of the poor capitalised, stated the resolution.
