JUST LOOK AT LADY GAY’S EYES

Just look at Lady Gay. She's using only one eye these days. Jonathan knows all

Jonathan? Oh, he's the last rule. He's the 42nd cousin of Zig, Zag, and Zog, and a dear friend of Rick, Rack, and Rob. Poor old Jonathan is often hurt, and when Jonathan is hurt Lady Gay is hurt, too. Jonathan is the rule that, when you write in pencil, you sharpen your point. Of course Lady Gay doesn't mind pencil — ever so many of you are too small for ink — but sometimes Sunbeams use blunt pencils, and then — oh dear! The other day Lady Gay received a story. It was a good story, but there were five pages of it, and they were all in the faintest of faintest pencil. By the time she had finished reading it one eye had gone right to sleep, and it kept shut for a whole day. The other eye was tired, too, just as you see in the picture, but it kept bravely going the rest of the day. - Before she started that letter Lady Gay's eyes were just as you see them in the first picture, nice, and round, and saucery. Jonathan says, will you remember him, just as you are remembering dear little Zig, Zag, and Zog? He says he's important, too, just as they are. ■ By the way, Lady Gay hopes her right eye will wake up this time next week, but she's not sure. He's so sound asleep. , ,~ T , ~, LADY GAY.
