Being a General Motors dealer in Southland, he was interested to visit the offices and plant of the company at Detroit Flint, and New York. Mr Green is now making a motor tour of the British Isles, and he will later visit France, Germany, and Switzerland The return to New Zealand will be by way of Suez. Among the 12 acting petty officers who have been promoted to commissioned rank in the Royal Navy from September 1 is one from the New Zealand Division. Petty Officer Thomas lan Harray. He is the first to gain a commission in this way from among those who have begun their service on the lower deck under the Dominion Government.
