STAY-IN STRIKERS IN N.S.W.
COLLIERY DEADLOCK NOW ENDED MINERS GIVE REQUIRED GUARANTEES SYDNEY, August 9, The deadlock which held the Broken Hill Proprietary collieries in the Newcastle district idle for more than a week has ended. Members of the Miners’ Federation employed at the three pits, John Darling, Burwood, and Lambton B, decided to give a guarantee as recommended by the Miners’ Central Council, that there would be no more stay-in strike . at their mines pending q completion of the negotiations between the Miners’ Federation and the New South Wales coal owners on the subject of wages and conditions.
