WARRANTS OF FITNESS
CONTRACT FOR CITY TESTING
STATION
The tender of Mr T. E. Marriott has been accepted by the City Council’s traffic committee for the construction df a building to house plant for testing motor vehicles for warrants of fitness. The work will cost £ 4151, this sum including the contractor’s price of fencing the property. The contract provides for the completion of the work in three months.
The site of the building is in Lichfield street, about 200 yards to the west of Fitzgerald avenue, and access to the building will also be available from Tuara street. There will be two testing lanes in the building, and there will be space for a third lane. The testing plant has already been obtained by the council.
