VITAL DECISION TO BE MADE

BELLIGERENT RIGHTS NOT CONTEMPLATED

(t'KITSD PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.) (Received July 3, 12.45 a.m.) LONDON, July 2. The Foreign Secretary (Mr R. A. Eden) stated in the House of Commons that there was no question of an agreement granting belligerent rights in Spain being reached at today's meeting of the Non-Interven-tion Committee. The Government would continue to press for the withdrawal of foreign combatants. He was not in a position to make a statement on the Government's policy if non-intervention should break down.

Mr Lloyd George: As a most serious decision, vitally affecting British interests, may be taken before the House reassembles on Monday, will Mr Eden make a statement this afternoon?

Mr Eden: If I can. .But I doubt whether it will be possible to say anything beyond the committee's communique until Cabinet considers the situation.

M. Charles Corbin (French Ambassador) conferred with Lord Plymouth (chairman of the committee) before the meeting.

BRITAIN BLAMED IN GERMANY

(Received July 3, 1.10 a.m.) BERLIN, July 2. The German press throws the whole blame for the crisis on Britain, accusing her of dynamiting the Non-intervention Committee by threatening to supply arms to the Spanish Reds.
