REVALUATIONS OF BOROUGHS
RICCARTON AND SUMNER EARLY START IN HALSWELL COUNTY . The revision of values in the Riccarton and Sumner boroughs by the Valuation Department is expected to start soon, and officers of the department will begin their work in the Halswell County within the next week or two. The Riccarton Borough Council has been expecting a start to be made in its area for some time; but the department is first concentrating on finishing the city valuations in dealing with the objections lodged. I'he number of objections has not been stated. It is considered likely that when al. the objections have been dealt with the revision of values in the Riccarton and Sumner boroughs will be undertaken almost simultaneously. The two areas are approximately the same, each involving about 1750 assessments, and two men will probably be engaged in each district. In the meantime a start will be made with a revision of values in the Halswell county.
