HOUSES ENTERED IN RICCARTON

MONEY AND GOODS STOLEN Three houses in Lower Riccarton were broken into on Friday evening by thieves who stole money and clothing. The home of Mr Hutton, 35 Rata street, was entered about 8 p.m. A small leadlight on the porch was broken and the front door unlatched. About £6, a ma..'s suit, and other articles of clothing were stolen. Drawers were emptied on to the floor, and the house was in general disordei when the owner returned. • Entrance to another house, that of Mrs E. Atkinson, at 18 Kauri street, on the corner next to Mr Hutton's home, was gained by climbing over a balcony and through an unlocked door. The house was ransacked, but all that was taken was the contents of a child's money-box. Some cake was apparently eaten on the premises. A small amount of money was taken from another house, and some bottles of beer were drunk.
