CELEBRATING THE CORONATION
SPORTS AND DANCES IN COOK ISLANDS (press association telegram.) WELLINGTON, June 5. The correspondent of the United Press Association, writing from Rarotonga, says the celebrations on the occasion of the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth were carried out throughout the whole of the Cook group on May 12. The function at Rarotonga included a .parade of returned soldiers, the Boys' Brigade, Girl Guides, and school children. Later there was a sports meeting and a Coronation ball in the evening. Dances were also held in each village. Special church services were held in all churches on the Sunday preceding Coronation Day.
