VISIT TO MOUNT COOK

WORKERS' EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION A party of about 50 students of the Workers' Educational Association left for the Hermitage, Mount Cook, on Saturday morning, and will return next Wednesday. They are under the leadership of Mr G. Manning, secretary of the association, who, in conjunction with the management, is arranging a series of trips to various points of interest. Parties will climb Mount Sebastopol and will go to Kea Point, and other places, and a one-day trip will be made to the Ball Hut. It is expected that there will be good ski-ing because of the recent snowstorm. The trips will give the party an opportunity to see the Tasman'Glacier, the inner face of the Muller Glacier, and the Hochstetter ice falls. Many parties of school children are paying visits to the Hermitage. A party of Christ's College boys will return to-day, and visits by Nelson children are arranged. The value of skiing as a sport for children is being generally acknowledged.
