SPOTLIGHTS FOR TRAFFIC DIRECTORS
TO TH» BDITOX OF Til PBSBS. Sir, —Seeing that the Hon. R. Semple is trying to minimise road risk from motor traffic, and that the Christchurch City Council is apparently doing all In its power to educate the motorist through a mobile loud-speaker, may I suggest that the City Council place spot-lights on adjacent buildings to crossings whore an officer is on duty. Those officers now wear white coats and white gloves for visibility’s sake. Why not spot-light these men so that we motorists could plainly see our signals on a foggy or rainy night? —Yours, etc.. LEONARD CHECKLEV. June 4, 3937.
