BRADDOCK SUSPENDED SCUMBLING PROTESTS AGAINST COMMISSION’S ACTION (UNITED I>BES3 ASSOCIATION —COPTEIOHT.) (Received June 4, 7.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 3. The Boxing Commission fined James J. Braddock 1000 dollars, and suspended him for failure to appear at the weighing-in for his fight with Max Schmeling to-night. It declared that any boxer who engaged to fight Braddock would also be suspended. . The Illinois Boxing Commission s co-operation was asked, but it is considered 1 unlikely that this body will interfere in the Braddock-Joe Louis contest on June 22. Braddock’s 5000 dollars guarantee that he would meet Schmeling was divided between Schmeling, who was ready to-day, and the Madison Square Garden. Schmeling, who faithfully underwent months of training here, bitterly protested against the inadequacy of the commission’s action. He had demanded that the title be vacated and be bimself declared 1 premier challenger. “Now it only means that if Louis wins he will be champion,” he said.
