Frances Farmer is to be starred in Paramount's technicolour version of Robert Louis Stevenson's "Ebb Tide." It will be called "With the Tide." A silent version was made in 1922. Miss Farmer will also play in "Wells Fargo," directed by Frank Lloyd. • * • Edmund Lowe is to appear in Edgar Wallace's famous thriller. "The Squeaker," which has gone into production at the Denham Studios. Elizabeth Allan appears opposite him. Sebastian Shaw also has an important role.
A Tartar chieftain's camp in the wilds of Siberia was authentically constructed in the Santa Monica mountains for scenes in RKO Radio's "Michael StrogofT." in which Anton Walbrook. the Viennese stage and screen star, will make his American film debut. * . • * This Max Schach-Trafalgar Films' version of the Leoncavello's famous opera, "Pagliacci," is claimed to be the first complete opera ever screened.
