PEARSON—HILLARY The marriage of Olivia Joan, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. W. Hillary Opawa, to Harry Richard, only son of Mr and Mrs H. T. Pearson, Tokoroa, Waikato, was celebrated yesterday afternoon by the Rev. Clarence Eaton at the Durham Street Methodist Church. Mr Melville Lawry was the organist. Mr Hillary escorted his daughter, who wore a trained frock of oyster satin made on princess lines, and trimmed with ruching down the centre of the bodice. A pleated halo of tulle trimmed at each side with orange blossom held to the head her long veil of tulle, and she carried white lilies. A floral georgette frock patterned in orange lemon, and blue tonings on a green background was worn by the bridesmaid. Miss Dorothy Dixon, and her head-dress was composed of flowers to tone with her bouquet of autumn tints. , . , Mr N. G. Hillary, the bride's brother, was best man. , . ... Mr and Mrs Hillary entertained the guests at their home at Opawa, where the reception rooms were decoratea with freesias and jonquils. HARTLEY—MOULD Members of the Girls’ Friendly Society decorated St. Andrew’s Church. Little River, for the wedding, celebrated there yesterday afternoon, of Elsie, second daughter of the late Mrs Mould, and of Mr T. Mould, Puaha, Little River, to Wiiram Henry Darien, eldest son of Mr and Mrs H. Hartley, Rangiora. The Rev. D. R. Hay performed the ceremony, and Miss Myr'Je Webster played the wedding music. The autumn foliage and chrysanthemums arranged in the church made an effective background for the frock of ivory souple satin worn by the bride, who was escorted by her father. The cowled yoke and full sleeves of the frock were of angel-skin lace, the sleeves being drawn into tight sat n bands at the wrists. The skirt was moulded to the knecline and then Hared out to floor-length. A coronet of orange blossom and buds formed the head-dress, holding in position her veil of embroidered silk tulle, and she carried a shower bouquet of white longiflorum lilies, freesias. and roses. A bouquet of freesias, lilies, and white chrysanthemums was carried by the bride’s sister, Miss Edith Mould, who attended as bridesmaid. Her frock of pastel-pink embossed suede crepe had small puffed sieves ruched at the shoulders, and a spray of pink and silver (lowers trimmed the neckline, which was finished with a Peter Pan collar. The two colours were combined in the sash, and the flared skirt was weighted with two frills. Her bandeau was of pink velvet and silver flowers. Mr R. Jones was best man, and the ushers were Messrs A. T. Mould and W. J. Mould. As the bride left the church, she was presented with a lucky horseshoe by her small cousin, Miss Coral Mould. At the reception held at the Triangle Hall, the guests were received by Miss M. Mould, the bride’s sister, who was wearing a brown romaine frock relieved with beige trimmings, and a brown felt hat finished with a coloured mount to tone with her shoulder spray cf autumn flowers. Cornflower blue trimmings relieved the black marocain frock worn by the bridegroom’s mother, and she wore also a beige felt hat. Her flowers were blue irises and yellow chrysanthemums. The bride travelled in a brswn selfstriped tailored suit, a salmon pink blouse of crepe de chine, and a small brown felt hat with a feather mount to tone. She carried a fur-trimmed tweed coat. Mr and Mrs W. H, Hartley will make their home at Kihi Kihi, Te Awamutu, North Island. KATHERINE LUND MEMORIAL FUND TO BE ESTABLISHED The many friends and pupils of the late Miss Katherine Lund wish to show their sincere admiration and affectionate regard for her by establishing a memorial to her. As she was particularly successful with all candidates whom she entered for examinations. her friends feel that a fund, the interest on which will be devoted to promising young players, would be the most fitting and active expression of their purpose. As a daughter of the late Mr H. M. Lund, pne of the foremost musical authorities of Christchurch. Miss Lund was also well known to many, and those responsible for the idea of establishing a memorial are convinced that a great number of musically-inclined persons will desire to help.
