Mr E. Archbold was a passenger by the steamer express from Wellington which arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning. Mr H. C. Lusty, Inspecting Engineer of New Zealand Railways, arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning from Wellington. Mr W. O. Rennie, chairman* of the Canterbury Agricultural College Board, and Professor E R. Hudson, director of the college, returned to Christchurch from Wellington yesterday morning. Buchanan was elected president of the South Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union at the twenty-seventh annual conference of the branch yesterday in Timaru. Mr G. L. Pomfret-Dodd was re-elected unopposed as president of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society by a unanimous vote of the society’s council last evening. Dr. D. McK. Dickson and Mr George Ebert were elected vice-presidents of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society at a meeting of the society’s council last evening.
