CITY GARBAGE DUMPS
TO FHE EDITOR OF THE PRESS Sir, —I was surprised, though not alarmed, to read in your columns that the Mayor states that a delegation consisting of the engineer and a councillor will attend the meeting of residents in Spreydon to give an outline of the scheme for garbage dumps. Will the May.oi; and your readers kindly note that the object of the meeting is ; to protest and formulate plans for combating the scheme, and not to hear further propaganda from the council. Surely the Mayor is not so optimistic as to imagine that the meeting is being held for a member of the council’s staff to dominate it. If he will credit us with a little more intelligence than that, we are prepared to reciprocate.—Yours, etc., L. HOLDINGS, President, Spreydon Burgesses’ Association. June 2, 1937.
