The third dam was got by Baron of Buch--5 The other filly is by Grinsdalc Rosebud (62824), a bay roan, foaled on May 22. 1935, the breeder in this case being Mr James L. Taylor, Croft House, Cotehill, Carlisle. The sire was Stapleton Marcullus (21924). and the dam Mereside Rosebud (57911), by The Dunure (16839). Balgreen Ensign (22845) is the name of the colt. Ha is a brown, and foaled in May, 1935. by Douglas Castle, now third on the breeding list. Bred by Mr Johrf Murdoch. Lorg. NewtonStewart, his dam was Larg Mavflower (62474), by Auchonflower (12007). A substantial task was performed recently by a Blenheim firm of carriers in transporting six large draught horses on one motor-truck from Parnassus to Benopai. The animals were Clydesdale mares bred in the Methven district and purchased by Mr W. G. Rudd, who had them railed to Parnassus, where they were loaded on to the lorry. Three of tho horses were led on board and placed side by side with their heads forward over the top of the cab. Then a manuka rail was lashed across behind them and two more rails placed lengthwise separating the animals. The other three were placed behind and similarly secured, and they all made the long journey to Benopai with a. scratch.
