STATE OF GERMAN INDUSTRY

HITLER ALARMED BY MEMORANDUM CONCILIATORY FOREIGN POLICY URGED LONDON, May 31. The Prague correspondent of the "Daily Herald" states that Herr Hitler is alarmed by a secret memorandum from German industrial leaders expressing dissatisfaction with the present conditions and grave fears for the future. The memorandum, which urges a reduction in taxes and a more conciliatory foreign policy, declares: "At least 50 per cent, of Germans are living on money derived directly or indirectly from the Government. Self-sufficiency in regard to foodstuffs has not been achieved. We consider that life in Germany can only be restored by a big foreign loan, possibly from the United States."
