TRANSATLANTIC AIR RACE
TWENTY-TWO MACHINES NOW ENTERED PARIS, April 30. Twenty-two aeroplanes have now entered for the Lindbergh anniversary transatlantic , race. Italy has five entries and the United States three. The American demand for the abandonment or the postponement of the competition will be considered after the closing of entries on May 2. The French Air Ministry, after consulting with the Aero Club of France, recently announced that it had not yet been decided to abandon the international transatlantic race, and emphasised that only the postponement of the race, and not its abandonment, was being considered. America had urged a postponement on the grounds that accidents would create a bad impression on the eve of the opening of transatlantic commercial services. The race was organised to mark the tenth anniversary of the Atlantic flight by Colonel C. Lindbergh. MRS MOLLISON PLANS PRACTICE PLIGHT INDIANAPOLIS., May 2. Mrs Amy Mollison said that she would fly from Paris to New York in July in preparation for the Lindbergh transatlantic race.
