The Hon. P. C. Webb, Minister for Mines, was a passenger from Wellington by the steamer express yesterday. The Minister for Lands (the Hon. F. Langstone), who has been visiting Otago and Southland, arrived in Dunedin yesterday afternoon, land was interviewed by several deputations. IThe Minister will leave this morning for fChristchurch en route to Wellington.—" The Press" Special Servicer , ' The Hon. H. Millington, Minister for Public Works in the Western Australian Government, who is making a tour of New Zealand, arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning from Wellington. , He is accompanied by Mrs Millington. Engineer Rear-Admiral E. D. Sydenham, R.-N. (retired), a former director of naval construction for the Royal Australian Navy, arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning by the steamer express. He was accompanied by Mrs Sydenham. Mr H. S. E. Turner, manager of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, Ltd., returned to Christchurch yesterday, morning. Mr A. R. Galbraith, City Engineer of Christchurch, returned from Wellington by the steamer express yesterday. Mr Harold Beck, the Christchurch 'cellist, who has been playing in the Australian Broadcasting Commission's Symphony Orchestra in Sydney since early in April, has been chosen as one of the special group of players to tour the Australian states with the Finnish conductor, Georg Schmeevoight. Major H. S. N. Robinson, general secretary and treasurer of the Melanesian Mission, who is in Christchurch during the visit to Lyttelton of the mission motor-ship Southern Cross, was formerly a military officer in Christchurch, and was embarkation officer at Lyttelton for the M,ain Body of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, which left by the steamers Tahiti and Athenic. He served in Egypt and France in the New Zealand Fourth Brigade, including the actions at Messines and Passchendaele. Later he was transferred to the New Zealand Rifle Brigade. In 1924 Major Robinson retired from the New Zealand Staff Corps to take up his present position. Mr C. F. Blanchard, formerly of the Public Trust Office, Christchurch,. and now of Pukekohe. Auckland, was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court at Auckland yesterday by Mr Justice Callan on the motion of Mr G. H. Wallace. - Major K. L. Steward District Staff Officer in Dun*»din, has received notice of his transfer to Christchurch and will leave about the middle of next month. His successor has not yet been announced.—" The Press" Special Service.
